Intro to Nursing Dual Credit Course

High school students who aspire to pursue the health care industry will be introduced to nursing practice and its four major concepts: professional identity, clinical practice, patient and health systems, all while being immersed into the higher educational experience at Saint Xavier University. Classes are held every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from July 8-18, 2019.
High school students will receive the opportunity to:
- Learn basic skills such as observing and measuring vital signs.
- Meet current SXU nursing students who can provide guidance on taking nursing classes at SXU.
- Learn from faculty who are thoroughly experienced in the health care industry.
- Tour SXU's innovative simulation labs.

This one-credit hour course, NURS 102: Profession Nurse Roles and Concepts, is reserved for high school students who are at least junior-level students.
The cost of attending the camp is $100 per student.

A parent/guardian must also fill out and send in our SXU Summer Camp Health Form (PDF) for any summer camp or program. This form must be completed and returned to Auxiliary Services at least one week prior to the start of camp. Please fill out one form per participant.
