Foundational Outcomes

(With the option of a concentration in piano, organ, voice, guitar or orchestra/band instruments).

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will develop comprehensive capabilities in their performing medium including the ability to work independently to prepare performances at the highest possible level.
  2. Students will learn applicable solo and ensemble literature and gain experience with the fundamentals of pedagogy.
  3. Students will develop musicianship skills through solo and ensemble performances in a variety of formal and informal settings.
  4. Students will develop the ability to perform in recital advanced solo repertoire appropriate to their performing medium.
  5. Vocal performance students will study and practice foreign languages and diction.
  6. Jazz performance students will develop capabilities in jazz improvisation in the style and tradition appropriate to the performing medium.
