CCC Exercise Science Transfer Guide

This transfer guide can assist exercise science students with their transition to Saint Xavier University. Please refer to the general education requirements for an A.A. or A.S. degree found in the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) Academic Catalog.

If students complete the majority of their general education requirements prior to transferring to SXU, they may qualify for the IAI GECC Articulation Agreement with the exception of Philosophy 150: The Examined Life and a religious studies course.

The Exercise Science focuses on the scientific study and understanding of the physiological, biomechanical, and psychological effect on the human body. Program instruction is comprised of coursework featuring muscular and skeletal anatomy; biomechanics; fuel utilization; muscle and body training; physiology of specific exercises and activities; physiology of injury; and the effects of disabilities and disease; as well as psychological and social issues surrounding professions related to the program. The curriculum concludes with a career-oriented internship and capstone in Exercise Science and is a critical component of the program.
