JJC Math Transfer Guide

This transfer guide can assist math students with their transition to Saint Xavier University. Please refer to the general education requirements for an A.A. or A.S. degree found in the Joliet Junior College (JJC) Academic Catalog.

Students who complete the majority of their general education requirements prior to transferring to SXU, may qualify for the IAI GECC Articulation Agreement with the exception of Philosophy 150: The Examined Life and a religious studies course.

Mathematics Major: B.A. or B.S.

Major requires a minimum of 30 credit hours.

Suggested sequence of math courses: Take MATH 200: Introduction to Discrete Mathematics and MATH 211: Linear Algebra after completing MATH 202: Calculus with Analytic Geometry II.

Students planning to attend graduate school are strongly encouraged to complete the requirements for a B.S. degree.

A grade of C or better is required in all courses counting toward the major.
