SSC English Transfer Guide
This transfer guide can assist English students with their transition to Saint Xavier University. Please refer to the general education requirements for an A.A. or A.S. degree found in the South Suburban College (SSC) Academic Catalog.
If students complete the majority of their general education requirements prior to transferring to SXU, they may qualify for the IAI GECC Articulation Agreement with the exception of Philosophy 150: The Examined Life and a religious studies course.

Major Requirements
All English majors must complete a common set of core requirements (12 credit hours). English majors must also complete one of the concentration options (24 credit hours); Global Literatures or Writing and Rhetoric.
One three-hour literature course may count towards the University's General Education requirement in literature/fine arts. No course may be used to satisfy more than one requirement within the major.
