Student Success Academy
UPDATE (AS OF MAY 20, 2020):
Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the Student Success Academy program will be delivered through a combination of an online meeting the week before the start of the fall semester and a series of meetings, mentoring and assessments throughout the fall semester. More details will be communicated later this summer.
The Student Success Academy, formerly known as Academic Advantage, is an academic support program designed for a select group of incoming freshmen. The program helps first-year students develop the necessary skills and academic confidence to handle advanced learning in college. Saint Xavier professors and staff will cover the necessary critical reading, foundational math, study skills, and writing components to prepare students for their first-year. Students will complete additional assessments and meet with an advisor to review course placement.
Most importantly, students will be provided with small-group learning communities that offer them one-on-one academic attention, and a social, support network of peers as they enter SXU.
The Student Success Academy will provide a solid foundation of the skills, tools, and confidence that first-year students need to succeed at Saint Xavier University. Topics will include:
- Critical reading
- College readiness
- Foundational math
There is no cost to attend the Student Success Academy. Registration is now available! For more information and program details, please contact the Office of Admission at 844-GOTO-SXU (844-468-6798) or email@example.com.
