The inaugural 2022 Week of Service is taking place March 21 to March 25. Students, staff and faculty of the SXU community are invited to participate in service initiatives closely tied to the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy. There are opportunities to provide support at the University as well as external organizations including Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens, Port Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, Mosque Foundation Food Pantry, Arab-American Family Services, Greater Chicago Food Depository and La Rabida Children’s Hospital.

Individuals must RSVP on The Den and follow any pre-registration requirements outlined in the event description. The Service Club is seeking chaperones for each of the off-site service events. If interested, please contact the point person outlined in the event description.

In preparation for the Ronald McDonald House service opportunities, the Service Committee will be collecting specific food items that will be prepared and served by volunteers during these site visits. These items will be collected the week before. If you are interested in donating items, please contact Manal Kanaan: kanaan@sxu.edu.
