Removing Boundaries: Immigration and Advocacy

 Join the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SONHS) for a panel focusing on immigration, one of the "critical concerns" of the Sisters of Mercy. We will discuss current trends and issues in U.S. immigration, describe nurses' ehtical responsibility as advocates, and consider best practices for working with immigrants in clinical and community settings. 

Keynote presentation by Mary Ellen Biggerstaff, DNP, MPH, FNP, Assistant Professor, Frontier Nursing University

Panel Respondent: Evelyn Venegas, Program Coordinator, Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights

Presented by Alpha Omicron chapter of Sigma.

Registered nurses who attend the event and complete the evaluation will earn one continuing education (CE) credit.
