2023 Service Week: Cradles to Crayons

Volunteers will be volunteering in the Giving Factory warehouse. Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and layered clothing they do not mind getting dirty. Volunteers work in stations to inspect, sort and package donations alongside other individuals and groups. Your volunteer shift will begin with an orientation led by a Cradles to Crayons staff member and end with a wrap-up and an opportunity to learn the number of children you impacted during your shift and to take group pictures. Cradles to Crayons has wheelchair accessibility and can provide reasonable accommodations for volunteers who might need it. Transportation will be provided. The bus will depart SXU by 12:30 p.m. (this location is approximately 45 to 50 minutes away). RSVP on The Den

Product donations are highly recommended in order to sustain our operating model, but not required! Since we accept clothing up to adult size medium the idea is that volunteers don’t need to go out and buy clothes, but they can look through their closets and donate any clothes they may not wear anymore.

This event requires individuals to pre-register through the organization. All volunteers will be required to complete the pre-registration form prior to stepping onto the bus:

  • Registration code: a0R3b00000aPRDm

A full listing of events can be found on The Den by searching “2023 Service Week” or by clicking on event titles in the Service Week Calendar. Individuals must RSVP on The Den and follow any pre-registration requirements outlined in the event description.

We are seeking staff and faculty chaperones for each of the off-site service events. Please complete the chaperone sign-up form if you are interested in chaperoning.

Service calls us to use our gifts, talents, and abilities to advance the genuine well-being of our community and those we encounter.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Josh Bogaski-Baugh at bogaskibaugh@sxu.edu.
