Corey Medina

Title:Academic Support Coach
Office:Warde Academic Center
Department: Center for Success

Corey Medina holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on creative writing from DePauw University and is a proud Posse Scholar alum. After graduation, he worked as a college advisor for Gage Park High School and then as a college coach for College Possible, assisting college students from multiple universities in achieving their academic and career goals.

His passion for assisting college students comes not only from his work experience, but from his personal experience as well. Medina was the first in his family to graduate from college. He knows of the challenges and pressures that come with being "the first." He hopes to use his experience to motivate other first-generation college students to continue pushing for the education they deserve!

He grew up on the Southwest Side of Chicago and is a loyal White Sox fan. In his downtime, he loves to read true crime and World War II books, watch professional wrestling and football, listen to various music and write. He is also the proud uncle of four nieces and seven nephews!
