Professor Donald A. Cyze has been teaching at Saint Xavier for over 25 years. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and in Economics from Quincy University, a Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University and an LL.M. in Taxation from DePaul University. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and a member of the Illinois, Indiana and Florida Bars.
Professor Cyze teaches Individual Taxes, Corporate Taxes, Business Law and Estate Planning. Prior to teaching, Professor Cyze worked as an estate and business planning consultant at CNA Insurance Company and in the tax division of Arthur Andersen & Co.. Professor Cyze also provides legal and tax services in his local law practice focusing on business, tax and estate planning and administration matters.
In his free time, he enjoys gardening, golf and writing music. He is a board member of Kids Caring For Kids, a charitable organization that provides financial assistance aimed at assisting children impacted by the AIDS epidemic in Africa; a board member of South Suburban PADS, a charitable organization that provides housing and social services to homeless persons; and volunteers as attorney, tax advisor and general worker for Operation Blessing of Southwest Chicagoland, a charitable organization that provides food and spiritual nourishment to persons in need.
