Saint Xavier adjunct professor performs
Chicago (Nov. 3, 2006) – Saint Xavier University adjunct voice professor Erin Wieneke will perform a recital titled “A Collection of Art Songs and Arias” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
“I’ve chosen music that incorporates a variety of musical colors and styles,” Wieneke said. “Beautiful melodies, great emotional depth and multiple characters will be evident in this performance.”
The program will include Laudamus te from Mozart’s Mass in C minor, selections from Hugo Wolf’s Spanishes and Italienisches Liederbuch, Francis Poulenc’s Fiançailles pour rire, and various operatic arias. Wieneke will be accompanied by pianist Daniel Surma, an adjunct professor at Saint Xavier.
Wieneke received her master of music degree in vocal performance from New England Conservatory. She is a regular soloist and alto section leader at the Chicago Temple and performs with Interactive Opera, a not-for-profit opera company that gears opera productions toward children
