SXU's School of Nursing hosts Poverty Simulation on November 2

Saint Xavier University's (SXU) School of Nursing (SON) is pleased to host the Missouri Association for Community Action (MACA) Poverty Simulation^© Wednesday, November 2 from 6:45 to 10:30 a.m. in Butler Reception Room. The poverty simulation provides approximately 60 Sophomore II student participants the opportunity to assume the role of a low-income family member living on a limited budget. Volunteers assume community member roles representing one of the community resources and services utilized by the families during the simulation. Volunteers will attend a 45 minute orientation, followed by the actual simulation exercise (approx. 1 1/2 hours) and a 40 minute debriefing period during which participants and volunteer staffers share their experiences.
