Last week, a historic event took place in the global economic sector, the United Kingdom (UK) voted to leave the European Union (EU) after 43 years. To help digest the implications this move has on our own nation, Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Graham School of Management (GSM) Professor Faisal Rahman, Ph.D., shared his expertise on how this effects the U.S. economy. College of Arts and Science Political Philosophy Professor Robert Shapiro discussed the Britain vote in light of the recent Supreme Court decision on President Obama's immigration bill. Rahman was interviewed on WGN-TV and CLTV's Politics Tonight and Shapiro was interviewed on CLTV's Politics Tonight.

During the broadcasted interviews, SXU's professors discussed the history of Britain's involvement with the EU, as well as the reason behind the shocking vote. Additionally, the two professors addressed that Britain has the fifth largest economy and leaving the EU has the potential to create a large global disconnect. As for America, people can expect to see a global stock market impact as a result of this vote and a possible recession.

Below are the media interviews both Prof. Rahman and Shapiro participated:
