Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Department of Student Media will host two sessions for their 4th Annual Summer Media Camp.

The first summer camp session, July 11 through 15, will focus on journalism, where students will learn journalism skills, such as news writing/reporting, editorial and features writing, and sports reporting. Students will also participate in ethical discussions that focus on issues and problems that 21st century journalists face. They will then apply all of these skills and theories in creating their own edition of The Xavierite, the student newspaper at SXU.

The second summer camp session, July 18 through 22, will focus on radio broadcasting, where students will learn broadcasting skills, such as how to create their own radio program, research topics that will be discussed on the air, and begin developing their on-air persona. They will also learn about the issues and problems 21st century broadcasters face on a daily basis and will apply all these skills and theories in programming WXAV 88.3 FM and WXAV.com, the student radio station of SXU, for the entire day.

The SXU Student Media Summer Camp is open to all high school students. Registration costs include: $150 for one week and $275 for both weeks. Students can dress casually and are asked to bring a bag lunch Monday through Thursday; lunch will be provided on Friday.
