Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Political Philosophy Professor Robert Shapiro recently served as an expert source on three major television networks discussing President Donald Trump's latest executive order, which placed a travel ban on seven mostly-Muslim countries. He interviewed during the 5 p.m. LIVE broadcast on ABC7 Chicago on Saturday, January 28, where he discussed whether or not the governmental courts will see this ban as a violation of the U.S. Constitution and his presidential power. Prof. Shapiro was also interviewed during the 7:30 a.m. LIVE broadcast on FOX 32 Chicago on Monday, January 30, where he discussed the backlash the Trump Administration is undergoing due to the travel ban executive order. Finally, Prof. Shapiro conducted a phone interview during the 5:30 p.m. broadcast on CLTV's Politics Tonight on Monday, January 30 with host Paul Lisnek. During the interview, he addressed what level of power an executive order by the president has and when is it deemed "crossing the line." Specifically, Prof. Shapiro discussed why people across the nation are debating whether or not President Trump has performed an act of discrimination on the basis of religion.

Prof. Shapiro has 34 years of experience as a litigator and trial lawyer for Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP.
