SXU Hosts Graduate Speech-Language Pathology Visit Day

Date:11/07/2018

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department invites those interested in furthering their education into this continuously evolving sect of health care to attend the Graduate Speech-Language Pathology Visit Day. Beginning at 10 a.m. in the Butler Reception Room, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with experienced faculty, discuss available options with members of the Graduate Admission and Financial Aid Offices, engage directly with current graduates students enrolled in the program and tour the Ludden Speech and Language Clinic.

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department (CSD) at Saint Xavier University (SXU) prepares students to assume powerful leadership and advanced practices roles in the rapidly changing health care environment by offering not only a comprehensive undergraduate experience but also a compelling and nationally selective graduate program. The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree offers students a program of academic and clinical preparation in which students will embrace a range of experiences.

"I attended Saint Xavier for both undergraduate and graduate and they really helped me gain a lot of clinical opportunities, including one where I'm currently working with special education students," said CSD alumna Jamie Gasior '15. "I don't worry about whether I'm prepared because I know SXU prepared me for life."

Students enrolled in both the undergraduate and graduate programs will find themselves a part of a welcoming collegiate community while also gathering a rich collection of practical experiences and academic coursework in biology, mathematics, behavioral and social sciences, linguistics and psycholinguistics. SXU commits itself to not only providing the education and a warm system of support for its students but also a challenging classroom environment that will prepare graduates for successful careers.

Those interested should register for the event online by Friday, November 16. For additional questions, please contact the Office of Graduate Admission at graduateadmissionFREESXU or 773-298-3053.
