SXU celebrates the opening of a new art gallery

Date:06/27/2018

Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Art and Design Department is excited to announce the opening of the UpFall Art Station, a new gallery available for SXU students, faculty, staff and alumni to share their artwork with the neighboring communities. The gallery is located at 1767 W 95th Street, Chicago, 60643.

The gallery opened its doors on June 9 to share their first exhibit, "Kanji Horse." A new art exhibit will open every two weeks to feature the creative works of students and alumni. The gallery also features a weekly event called the Time and Place Art Jam, which takes place Thursday evenings and fosters a creative environment for students and the community to join together to blend their artistic styles, whether that be through music, painting or other forms of art.

The first show runs from June 15 to June 28 and features the works of William Avorio, Nathan Peck, Bianca Santoyo and James Miller. On Thursday, June 28, the gallery will hold a Closing Reception from 7 to 10 p.m. to celebrate the works of art.
