Twenty-One SXU Student-Athletes Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

A total of 21 student-athletes to represent Saint Xavier University (SXU) during the fall season were recognized by the NAIA for their incredible work performed in the classroom, each earning the honor of being named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for their respective sports.

To be named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and have attended two years at their university, or one year as a transfer student.

All six of Saint Xavier University's fall sports programs were represented on the full Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list. SXU could not be more proud of its students and the continued work they undertake.

The 21 student-athletes to receive this honor were:

Grace Maletich, junior, nursing major
Jillian Siemiawski, senior, English major

Men's Cross Country
Brian Baldwin, junior, accounting major

Football
Reid Adams, junior, psychology major
Justin Hunniford, senior, mathematics/secondary education major
Anthony Kowalczyk, senior, business major
Michael Markasovic, junior, nursing major
Michael Ribando, junior, marketing major
Frank Staszel, junior, nursing major

Women's Soccer
Alex Abed, senior, business management/finance major
Dalila Alcala, senior, biology major
Alyssa Gilman, junior, nursing major
Abigail Peppin, senior, speech pathology major
Karina Saucedo, junior, psychology/criminal justice major
Ashley Smialek, junior, nursing major
Tajah Thomas, junior, international studies/psychology major
