SXU's MSN Program Ranked No. 4 Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs by U.S. News & World Report

Date:01/15/2020

Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program has been ranked No. 4 Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs by  U.S. News & World Report for 2020. SXU has consistently appeared in the top 4 for the last seven consecutive years.

"We are so pleased to once again be recognized for the quality of our online graduate nursing programs. Our MSN tracks offer practicing nurses several options for advancing nursing knowledge and skills so that they ultimately achieve a higher level of professional career success," said School of Nursing and Health Sciences Interim Dean and professor Michele Poradzisz, Ph.D., RN, CNL, CNE.

The 2020 rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research and students. Varied by discipline, the ranking methodology takes multiple factors into account, including job placement rates, starting salaries of graduates and academic quality ratings by officials at peer institutions. U.S. News judges the disciplines in consultation with experts in each field.

"SXU's online MSN program continues to be acknowledged once again through this prestigious ranking as a program which strives to meet the current and future health care needs of populations through advanced nursing practice and transformative leadership grounded in Mercy values," said Director of Online Nursing Programs and professor Charlene Bermele, DNP, RN, CNE. "It is a pleasure to work with our dedicated faculty, staff and students who work each day to make this happen."

The online MSN program at SXU is ideal for nurses who want to continue to work directly with patients while gaining tools and techniques that support superior patient care. Through the program, students will refine their leadership skills, engage in high-impact learning practices and build experience in a practicum. By working with expert faculty through practical experience, students are prepared for the 21st century health care workplace by learning how to be strong clinicians with a focus on health and wellness across diverse populations.

SXU's School of Nursing and Health Sciences is one of only 64 nursing programs across the country that are designated a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing.
