SXU Recognized as 2022 College of Distinction
Saint Xavier University (SXU) has been recognized among the 2021-2022 Colleges of Distinction as a higher education institution in Illinois, a Catholic university and in the areas of nursing, business and education for the fifth consecutive year. SXU was also recognized in the areas of career development, equity and inclusion, and military support. The list honors higher education institutions across the country for their engaged, high-impact approach to education, dedicated focus on the undergraduate experience, and commitment to student success and satisfaction.
The Career Development recognition is designated to colleges who show inventiveness in connecting with students throughout their academic careers and beyond, excelling at having students graduate and enter the workforce with solid, well-developed critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt in a changing society. The Military Support recognition honors colleges who guide their military students through comprehensive education benefits and dedicated community support, while the Equity and Inclusion designation is given to colleges who ensure that all students are given equal opportunity to thrive academically, personally and professionally with notable resources for student support.
Colleges of Distinction's selection process comprises a sequence of in-depth research about the institution's general education program, strategic plan, student satisfaction and more, accepting only those that adhere to the four overarching distinctions of student engagement, teaching, community and outcomes. Reviewers look for such qualities as accreditation, breadth of program, advising and mentoring, and successful outcomes for students. The selected distinguished institutions are measured by the experiences students come away with and the memories they can create as they invest in their futures, so students choose an institution that will provide them with a fulfilling, individualized college experience.
