Saint Xavier University (SXU) alumna Alyssa Prosapio '18 is giving back to the University by serving on the National Alumni Board. National Alumni Board members promote alumni outreach and fellowship and support a variety of programs and events that further the University's mission, vision and goals.

Inspired by her mother who had her own business while Prosapio was growing up, Prosapio decided to follow in her footsteps and enter the business world. She earned an associate's degree in administrative assisting in 2010 from Fox College and began working at Northern Trust as a corporate banking admin. She decided that she wanted to further her career in banking administration and began attending SXU in spring 2014, completing all of her classes online or in the evenings to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Currently, she works as a sales associate in the Global Family Offices Group within Northern Trust. She enjoys researching potential clients by determining their needs and how the bank can provide them with the necessary tools and services to nourish current and future generations.

She credits her time at SXU for opening to the door to her business career future.

"Since I was already in the business before I started at SXU, I knew the ins and outs, but earning my degree helped me gain the knowledge that would help me in ways I didn't know I needed," said Prosapio.

Prosapio enjoyed the diversity of students in the classrooms at SXU.

"There were students right out of high school, student-athletes, parents and even grandparents. I enjoyed being there with a plethora of students who were all there at night to achieve their dreams of furthering their careers and futures. Even with our different backgrounds, we were all there to achieve the same goal, no matter our current path in life. I still have great friends and some of those friends even serve on the board with me," said Prosapio.

Prosapio chose SXU for its convenience and flexibility. It was close to home and afforded her the ability to work downtown during the day and take classes during the evening with a short commute home after. She also had several friends who attended the University and knew from them what an excellent school it was. She's now proud to serve on the National Alumni Board.

"Saint Xavier provided me with a future of possibilities. It's the least I can do – give back to the University and its future graduates. SXU does a lot for the community, and it's always great to give back, no matter how big or small."

In the future, Prosapio plans to continue to be involved as much as she can with the National Alumni Board and SXU events.
