This Lenten season, Saint Xavier University (SXU) is celebrating a time of spiritual transformation with a variety of programming to enrich the community's commemoration of the Resurrection.

The season begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14. Mass with imposition of ashes will be held in McDonough Chapel at noon and a communion service with imposition of ashes will be held in McDonough Chapel at 4 p.m.

Each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, the community will gather for a few minutes of prayerful togetherness in McDonough Chapel from noon to 12:14 p.m. Each Wednesday, Mass will be held at noon, and each Sunday, Mass will be held at 7 p.m. in McDonough Chapel.

On Friday, February 16, from 10 to 10:30 a.m., and on Friday, March 15, from 1 to 1:30 p.m., Stations of the Cross will be held in McDonough Chapel. This devotion follows the story of Jesus Christ's persecution and crucifixion, offering participants moments of reflection and prayer.

Student-led bible study (only for students) will be held each Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. in Warde Academic Center Room L-306 and minister-guided bible study for the whole community will be held each Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. in Rubloff Hall, Suite 110.

Each Wednesday of Lent, a variety of gifted theologians will engage with a spiritually nourishing topic in McDonough Chapel at 7 p.m. The Lenten Mission Series events are free to attend.

Modeled after March Madness, each week, the community will be introduced to the lives of several holy people and invited to vote on which one touched their hearts the most. Winners move forward, and at the end of Lent, the "Golden Halo" will be awarded to the winning holy person. Those who accurately guess the winner will receive a prize from Campus Ministry. To participate, stay up-to-date on the Campus Ministry webpage.

Lent is a penitential season during which the SXU community has abundant opportunities to grow, connect, commit and live spiritually, and all are invited to participate.
