SXU Accounting and Finance Students Learn from Marketplace Professional

Saint Xavier University (SXU) accounting and finance students recently had the opportunity to learn from Paul Seamon, CFO of Gloo. Gloo, a technology platform that connects churches, nonprofits, and the broader faith community, serves over 140,000 faith, ministry and nonprofit leaders and is developing the world's first biblically aligned AI. Gloo had its initial public offering on the NASDAQ stock exchange in November 2025.
The opportunity was organized by accounting professor Nathan Chang, who invited Seamon to speak at length about the process a company undergoes to become public, the important role auditors play in the process, and his professional journey.
Chang just completed his first semester at SXU, teaching financial accounting, auditing, and business analytics.
"I'm hoping students in my classes gain an appreciation for business and especially accounting. What we learn in accounting is applicable in so many other parts of life," said Chang.
Chang aims to bring more high-impact, interactive networking opportunities to students.
"It's great to be able to show students the marketplace and bring its leaders into the classroom. It helps to prepare them for what comes after their college career," said Chang. "Paul [Seamon] is one of the smartest people I know. He has a tremendous amount of experience, and with the recent events of his company, this was a great opportunity for our students."
More than 20 students attended, and they appreciated learning from an executive at a public company. Chang, who also had a manager from Deloitte present this semester, plans to bring more visitors to class soon and looks forward to what students will learn from marketplace professionals.
