SXU Alumna Named Principal of Queen of Martyrs Catholic School

Saint Xavier University (SXU) alumna Beth Guerrero '25 has been selected as principal of Queen of Martyrs Catholic School.
As principal, Guerrero is committed to building a school culture where every student feels appreciated, loved and genuinely welcomed each day.
"I believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and supported -- not only academically but emotionally and spiritually as well. I also strive to cultivate a strong community rooted in commitment, passion and dedication. By partnering with families, supporting teachers, and keeping our faith at the center, we can create a school environment where excellence thrives and every child is encouraged to reach their fullest potential," said Guerrero.
Guerrero, who earned a master's degree in early childhood education, chose to pursue a graduate program at SXU because of its strong commitment to faith-based education.
"The University's dedicated professors and rigorous coursework challenged me to grow both professionally and spiritually. I valued being part of a community that emphasizes service, leadership and academic excellence while nurturing the whole person," said Guerrero.
Guerrero was drawn to teaching because she felt that it was about so much more than academics.
"I chose teaching because it is about making every child feel loved, special, seen and heard. Education is the foundation of a child's confidence and sense of belonging. When students feel safe and valued, they are able to grow, take risks, and discover their unique gifts," said Guerrero.
While at SXU, Guerrero was able to meet professors and educators who continue to be mentors and collaborators in her professional journey. She is grateful for the relationships she built, which have become a strong support system of colleagues she can lean on, learn from, and grow with as an educator and leader.
Guerrero finds that SXU's Mercy mission continues to resonate deeply with her, calling her to lead with compassion, service and a commitment to the dignity of every person.
"In my role as a school leader, I strive to create an environment where students feel valued, welcomed and supported academically, socially and spiritually. It also reminds me that education is not just about achievement but about forming hearts, building character and serving others. The Mercy mission challenges me to lead with integrity, foster strong relationships, and remain committed to nurturing a faith-filled community grounded in compassion and excellence," said Guerrero.
As Guerrero looks to the future, she plans to continue serving as a principal, focusing on building strong, meaningful relationships with students, families and staff.
"I aim to lead with passion, dedication and commitment, fostering a school community where every child feels valued, supported and inspired to reach their full potential."
