SXU Alumna Opens Chiropractic Practice

Saint Xavier University (SXU) alumna Valerie Moldovan '19 has opened her own chiropractic practice, Fix it Chiropractic, in Palos Hills.
At a young age, Moldovan was introduced to chiropractic medicine through her grandfather, who needed care for many years. She knew as early as fifth grade that she loved the way chiropractic approached pain and kept people pain-free with consistent care.
"The clinic I took over for was the very clinic my grandpa had gone to all those years with the doctor who inspired me to become a chiropractor," said Moldovan.
Moldovan, who majored in biology, chose SXU because of its close proximity to home, flexible class schedule, and generous academic scholarship. After graduating, she began her journey at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Moldovan successfully completed her coursework, board exams, and a preceptorship. Moldovan started working for ChiroOne and gained valuable experience traveling throughout the Chicagoland area before she became the associate director of the Orland Hills location. She opened her own private practice in November 2025.
Moldovan is eager to make a mark on the community with her practice and hopes to get involved with the surrounding schools and student-athletes. She has a warm bedside manner and works to keep the environment light, taking an interest in each patient to ensure they know she cares about them as a person and not a number.
"My adjustments are tailored specifically for each patient, and I always make sure they are feeling better than when they walked in. My favorite part of working with my patients is seeing them get out of pain. I take great pride in seeing them continue to come for care. My patients become like family, and their stories of how their adjustments affect their everyday lives makes my job fulfilling," said Moldovan.
Moldovan still draws on the skills she gained during her time at SXU and appreciates the exposure to high-impact learning opportunities.
"My first year of chiropractic school was mostly science classes, so much of what I learned during my biology courses at SXU was very helpful. I had a chance to work in the lab with cadavers at SXU with Dr. Stacie Raymond. This opportunity showed me how the body works from the inside out. I really value my experiences and education at SXU to this day," said Moldovan.
Moldovan also enjoyed her time at SXU outside of class and was able to immerse herself in campus life even as a commuter.
"My favorite memories at SXU were commuter activities. It was nice to be appreciated as a commuter and get some goodies during Commuter Week! Football, softball and volleyball games were always fun to go to with friends, as was spring formal. Sitting in the student lounge with my friends during our breaks was the best part of the day sometimes," said Moldovan.
Moldovan plans to continue growing her practice and looks forward to coming back to SXU and working with the Athletics program. She is passionate about chiropractic care and its benefits and hopes to be a mentor to students who are interested in becoming chiropractors.
