Saint Xavier University (SXU) nursing professors, Mary Murphy-Smith, DNP, and Zepure Samawi, Ph.D., recently presented at the Sigma Theta Tau 37th International Nursing Research Congress held in Toronto. For three inspiring days, nursing researchers and healthcare leaders came together to share discoveries, foster collaboration, and shape the future of nursing science.

Their presentation, "Innovative Pedagogy Engaging Nursing Students in Health Promotion Interventions and Research," focused on demonstrating the significance of engaging undergraduate nursing students in primary health promotion activities with applying the steps of the nursing research process.

Murphy-Smith and Samawi joined nursing professionals from around the world to network and share their innovative teaching pedagogies within nursing education and practice. Attending the conference provided Murphy-Smith and Samawi with opportunities to network and learn innovative strategies that will continue to benefit Saint Xavier University undergraduate nursing students.

Their participation in the international conference was supported in part from SXU's Sigma Theta Tau chapter, Alpha Omicron, and Saint Xavier University.
