Health Insurance for Students
Insurance coverage and hard waiver is only required for School of Nursing and Health Science students attending clinical placement and international students.
Saint Xavier University (SXU) is pleased to partner with Gallagher Student Health (Gallagher), to provide a PPO insurance plan from United Health Care to students who must have health insurance as a condition of enrollment.
School of Nursing and Health Sciences students attending clinical placement and international students are required to be covered under a comprehensive health insurance plan that can be used in the State of Illinois. These students are the only students eligible to enroll in the policy.
The United Health Care PPO policy is automatically added to your account and billed to you at cost which is $1,966 per student.
- If you already have comprehensive health insurance that can be used in the State of Illinois and do not want this coverage, you MUST provide the details of your policy (also called a waiver) to remove the Gallagher policy and related charges from your account.
- Gallagher will review your policy to ensure it meets minimum requirements and process your waiver request.
Accelerated BSN students must either choose to enroll or waive the student insurance policy through this link on or before the May 31, 2020 deadline. The policy for Accelerated BSN students will be active from May 18, 2020 to May 17, 2021.
