This building is the first residence hall built on the Chicago campus to incorporate environmentally friendly design, including a green roof over 10% of the surface, and is certified under the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) "green building" system.
These environmental friendly elements include recycled carpet, a roof with 1,000 square feet of low-maintenance plants for heating/cooling retention and toilets with two flush modes.
What Rubloff Hall has to offer:
- 24 suites for residents to enjoy apartment-style living
- Semi-private bedroom
- Furnished living areas
- Laundry facilities are available on each floor
Each suite is cable and internet ready. Many rooms are equipped with in-closet bicycle racks.
Rubloff Hall is connected to McCarthy Hall on the 2nd floor through The Link. This space is designed as quiet study or reading space for residents. Residents who do not reside in Rubloff or McCarthy Hall can access The Link by signing in at the Rubloff Hall front desk.
