Saint Xavier University Cougar Trax

First-Year Experience

Cougar Trax

Welcome, new Cougars! First-year students' academic careers officially begin with Cougar Trax!

This year, Cougar Trax was held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 and Friday, August 18, 2017. Thursday's student-only program began at 1 p.m. and concluded at 8:30 p.m. Friday's program, which was open to families, was from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. This two-day program, required for students, featured sessions critical to success in students' first year, opportunities for fun and social gathering, and the New Student Induction on Friday.

More About the New Student Induction

At the New Student Induction, students are greeted by the President of the University, Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D., and other members of the University community. Our featured speaker was Sister Corinne Raven, a Sister of Mercy, alum of SXU, and a pioneer in Mercy charism education and formation. During the Induction students were presented with a Saint Xavier Medallion to symbolize their membership in the SXU community and the beginning of their academic career. The event was followed by a community reception open to all.
