A successful score on the PRAXIS exam, administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) is required for licensure in speech-language pathology in the State of Illinois. The profile of Saint Xavier University students passing the PRAXIS exam has been exemplary. The annual report from PRAXIS includes the results of all Saint Xavier students who have taken the exam.

Alumni Employment

Prospects for employment in speech-language pathology within the State of Illinois are excellent, as they are in the neighboring states, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. Ninety-nine percent of the 101 graduates of the past few years (2018, 2019 and 2020) were all gainfully employed upon graduation and, to the best of our knowledge, remain so today.
