Biography
Julia Wiester, Ph.D., conducts research projects that characterize silver and gold nanoparticles and fluorescent dyes for biosensing, antibiotic properties and solar cell enhancement. Another area of research is detecting heavy metals in everyday items.
Student-Faculty Collaborative Research
In student-faculty collaborative research, students will learn new lab techniques, how to design and develop a scientific research project, gain independence in the lab and practice presentation skills.
Students must have taken general chemistry and commit four hours per week per credit. Students may start at any semester!
