Biography

Anthony McBride has over 20 years of experience working in the juvenile justice field. For part of his career, he worked as a community monitor, juvenile probation officer, school-based probation officer, assistant supervisor of an alternative sentencing center, and supervisor of probation department. He also served on several committees including the State of Illinois Offender Reentry Committee under the direction of former Governor Bruce Rauner and drug court, joint police and probation officers planning meetings. He also conducted joint ride-alongs and apprehension warrant searches. He was also charged with designing, overseeing operations, and implementing a first-time offender program in Pittsburgh called Youth Match. This program connected first-time offenders to positive community resources with the hope that they would remain connected to these programs to prevent further delinquent behavior. Youth Match was nominated as Court Operated Program of the Year in Pennsylvania. He also designed and oversaw a new program that focused on the educational transitional needs of offenders who were committed to state and private juvenile institutions.

Presentations/Publications/Productions

McBride spoke at 11 conferences including an international conference in Russia at the Russian Academy. He spoke at seven non-juried presentation/workshops. He published seven peer-reviewed articles in the Law Enforcement Executive Forum and in The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Russian Academy of Law Publishing group “Lawyer” Vladimir Branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation: Vladimir State University. He published five non-peer reviewed articles, six children's books and one book chapter.
