Biography
Phil Mathew is an ancient historian specializing in ancient Greece and ancient Rome.
His focus is mainly on warfare, politics and archaeology of archaic and classical
Greece, the Hellenistic Age, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire.
His capstone in graduate school focused on the use of military intelligence in Julius
Caesar's army during the Gallic War. He is a member of the Association of Ancient
Historians and the Society for Classical Studies.

Alexander the Great, Greek Warfare, Roman Warfare, the Hellenistic period, History of Roman imperial families, Roman Britain, Roman Judaea and Roman Egypt.
