Colleen O'Hearn, DNP, CPNP-PC, RN, joined SXU in 2021 as a full-time faculty member. O'Hearn holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Loyola University Chicago, a doctor of nursing practice from Rush University, and is certified as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner. She comes to SXU after working as a pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric gastroenterology at an academic medical center in a suburb of Chicago. O'Hearn has over 13 years of pediatric nursing experience in acute care pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and pediatric gastroenterology. O'Hearn has always had a passion and love for teaching, so she is honored to educate, inspire and guide the next generation of nurses.
