Biography

Karen Wood is a proud alumna of Saint Xavier University and has been on faculty at Saint Xavier for over 38 years. She has worked in critical care in both major medical centers and community hospitals for over 45 years and just recently retired from active bedside practice. Wood shares her love of nursing and SXU with her students and keeps in touch with many of them through her work on SXU's National Alumni Board. Wood met her husband, Phil, at SXU. They have nine children - several are also alumni of the University! Wood is a grandmother of nine and spends her spare time doing activities with her family and attending University events of all types. Her favorite pastimes are reading and game shows.
