Biography

Mary Donnelly has been an adjunct faculty member at SXU since 2011. Her background as a nurse educator has included a variety of courses at all levels, spanning clinical nurse educator, ADN, BSN, BSNA, RN-BSN and graduate programs. Her leadership experience has included both unit and hospital-wide responsibilities. Teaching, and in particular behavioral health nursing, has long been her passion and the cornerstone of her experiences where she has taught at all program levels. Her doctoral research was in narrative pedagogy and remains a primary area of interest. Other areas of research interest are student stress and anxiety reduction and strategies that empower the learner. In her free time, she loves to read, enjoys attending festivals that celebrate diversity, and volunteers with animal rescue organizations and the homeless community.
