Biography

Mary Tiberg holds a Ph.D. in nursing from Loyola University Chicago and joined the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at SXU in 2018. She is a seasoned professional with extensive clinical and administrative experience. In her current role as an assistant professor of nursing, Tiberg teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, online, in-person, hybrid and clinical instruction. She also serves as the coordinator of the Gerontology Studies program and the Accelerated BSN program.

Research Interest

Understanding how individuals cope with end-stage liver disease. Tiberg's research has been directed at the time points in care where the directed actions of nursing can improve care and overall quality of life for these individuals. Her initial research work was with individuals who are diagnosed with cirrhosis. This work will be the foundation for future research, where the implementation of health care strategies can be tested and evaluated.
