Biography

Meet Melone Shurney, a Student Support Specialist at TRIO. Hailing from the vibrant city of Chicago, Shurney has a deep-rooted passion for helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. As a proud first-generation college graduate, Shurney understands the unique challenges and triumphs that come with navigating the educational journey.

Shurney holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Lincoln College and a Master of Business Administration from Roosevelt University. With over a decade of experience working in the education sector, Shurney has developed a robust toolkit to support and empower students from all walks of life.

Outside of work, Shurney loves to swim and finds great joy in the sense of freedom and accomplishment it brings. This same sense of dedication and enthusiasm is what Shurney brings to the role of Student Support Specialist every day. Shurney takes immense pride in being a vessel for tools and resources that can help students succeed.
