Biography

Adriana Moreno (she/her/ella) serves as the Director of Advancement Operations and Systems, a role she has held since January 2026. She leads the strategic management and daily optimization of the University’s advancement data ecosystem—most notably Raiser’s Edge—to ensure data accuracy, streamline gift processing, and generate meaningful insights that strengthen fundraising and engagement initiatives. As a collaborative partner across campus, Moreno helps shape datainformed strategies, supports campaign and event execution, and advances annual philanthropic goals while championing SXU’s Pillars of Engagement.

Her work includes overseeing advancement operations, analytics, and prospect research; coordinating reporting for internal and external stakeholders; and cultivating strong partnerships with Finance, IT, and other University areas. She also provides guidance to the University Advancement team, fostering a culture grounded in curiosity, innovation and continuous improvement. Through thoughtful data governance, effective gift administration, responsive donor support, and oversight of key thirdparty platforms, Moreno ensures that University Advancement operates with integrity, efficiency and a forwardlooking approach.

Before joining SXU, Moreno served in advancement and missiondriven roles with the Midwest Augustinians in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood, the Union League Boys and Girls Clubs, and the USA Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus (Midwest Jesuits). Earlier in her career, she taught PreK through second grade.

Moreno earned both her bachelor’s degree in theology (with a minor in political science) and her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business analytics from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Following graduation, she spent two years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Santiago, Chile, where she worked in pastoral ministries, taught English to high school students, and supported migrant women—primarily from Peru—through Servicios Jesuitas a Migrantes (SJM), an organization providing pro bono social and legal services.

Outside of work, Moreno enjoys reading, baking, and traveling with her fiancé. She has visited several countries, explored all five Great Lakes, and traveled to both U.S. coasts and the Gulf of Mexico. She hopes to visit Morocco and Japan and return to Chile to experience Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. She also loves spending time with her huskymix, Nessie, whom she affectionately describes as a “geriatric teenage toddler.”

Moreno is deeply passionate about her work and finds it both energizing and purposedriven. A strong advocate for crosscampus collaboration, she is often seen supporting University events, welcoming alumni at Homecoming, assisting guests during Commencement, or lending a hand at SXU’s annual Golf Classic.
