The Elaine Gallagher Science Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the Education Department (formerly known as the School of Education) who are science majors in secondary education or students in early childhood or elementary education who may teach science at any level. This scholarship is funded by a donation from the estate of alumna Elaine Gallagher and gifts given in her memory.
The Committee of the Elaine Gallagher Science Education Scholarship seeks to honor Ms. Gallagher by assisting an admitted Education Department student who possesses the excellence, hospitality, service, and lifelong learning qualities of Elaine Gallagher. The scholarship is a tuition grant available to students who are science majors in secondary education or students in early childhood or elementary education or graduate programs who may teach science at any level.
Exact amount of tuition grants depends on available funds from endowments and individual student's account status. Please check with Financial Aid before applying.

- Applicants must complete the online application form below.
- Applicants must submit an essay (double-spaced, one to two pages). Please provide specific examples of how you embrace the values of excellence, service, lifelong learning and hospitality how they relate to your plans for working in the field of education. Please also address your interest in and plans for teaching science. Upload the essay with the application.
- Complete applications will include the application form and the essay. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
