Scholarship Details

The Dorothy Ritter Davis Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in the Education Division with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship is funded by a donation from the late Dorothy Ritter Davis, class of 1933.

The Award

The Dorothy Ritter Davis Scholarship Committee seeks to honor her by assisting an admitted Education Division student who possesses the core values of excellence, compassion, service and appreciation of diversity exemplified by Mrs. Davis. Applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship is a grant applied towards tuition in the following academic year.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Applicants must submit an essay (double-spaced, one to two pages). Please tell the committee about the values of Mrs. Davis that you share, providing specific examples of excellence, service, compassion and appreciation of diversity. Include the plans you have for your work in the field of education. Upload the essay with the application.

*Students applying for financial aid are automatically considered for these funds. Selection is based on a student’s match with a donor’s criteria. There is no separate application process.
