Sexual Misconduct and Harassment Response and Prevention
As a Catholic university sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier affirms the basic human dignity of all persons, including the right to be free from harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex or gender. In support of this fundamental belief, and in accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the University prohibits discrimination in all educational programs and activities on the basis of sex.
Programs and activities under Title IX include academic programs, admissions, athletics, financial aid, housing, career services, counseling and health services, student activities and employment.

What Does Title IX Cover?
Title IX prohibits:
- Sex or gender discrimination
- Sexual harassment
- Sexual violence
- Retaliation for filing a complaint
Examples of prohibited behavior include:
- Unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature
- Physical assault or coerced sexual activity
- Pressure or demand for sexual favors
- Obscene phone calls, gestures, texts or email
How Do I File a Complaint?
Any student who believes he or she has been subjected to any of the above behaviors from another student, faculty or staff member, or third party affiliated with SXU may contact:

- The Office of Public Safety (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year)
