Please join us for the 3rd Annual Technology Day: A Modern Story, August 18, 2014. Over the past two years 269 faculty and staff at Saint Xavier University have shared their experiences with technology and explored the areas of pedagogical innovation, iPads in the classroom, the utilization of ePortfolios and much more. This year we would like to invite like-minded faculty, staff and administrators who are interested in education innovation from the area universities, community colleges, and K-12 school districts.
This year we are pleased to have an international leader in educational technology serve as our Opening Keynote Speaker, Alan November, Senior Partner and Founder of November Learning. Alan was named one of the nation’s fifteen most influential thinkers of the decade by Technology and Learning Magazine.
Our Closing Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Theresa Dunkin, Superintendent, Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102. Dr. Dunkin is a thought leader in her own right. In 2013 she was awarded the “Tech Savvy Superintendent of the Year” by eSchool News and recognized at the 2013 American Association of School Administrators National Conference in Los Angeles this winter.
Stephen diFilipo from Cecil College will join us to open the Information Technology track with a talk on “Balancing Enterprise Security with Teaching and Learning Innovation.” Steve is listed by Huffington Post as one of the top 25 social Chief Information Officers (CIO).
This year, Dr. Bernard Robin, associate professor of Learning, Design and Technology at the University of Houston, will be presenting an entire track on Digital Storytelling. Dr. Robin is an internationally recognized leader in the educational uses of digital storytelling and has been teaching courses, conducting workshops, writing articles, and supervising graduate student research on the educational uses of digital storytelling for more than a decade.
The day will include five tracks designed to bring individuals from across institutions together to discuss innovation.
