Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Saint Xavier University is committed to the universal values of diversity, equity and inclusion.

As agents of positive change, SXU community members are responsible for actualizing our Mercy mission daily. The recent focus on racial inequity in our country brings our responsibilities into stark focus. We must come together and utilize our unique talents to contribute to the creation of a more compassionate and just world. We must use our scholarship to search for truth, think critically and offer meaningful spaces, vigorous conversation and exchange of expressive ideas that equitably propel us forward and away from discrimination in any form.

As a Mercy community, we acknowledge the work that must be done to address and eradicate structural and systemic barriers that create and perpetuate inequality. We acknowledge the need for continuous learning and advocacy for fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that is representative of our student population, our Mercy mission and our core values.

As we strive to become an even more inclusive and multicultural community, I am deeply proud of the ongoing and visible work being done on our campus.
