The purpose of the College-to-Career Expo is to connect quality candidates with employers and organizations recruiting for pre-professional, professional, and educational experiences including internships, volunteer experiences, graduate and professional school opportunities as well as part-time and full-time jobs.

What is the College-to-Career Expo?
The College-to-Career Expo happens twice a year! Once in the spring and once in the fall semesters. It is a part of the Advising and Career Success Day, a day dedicated to student futures and success! Classes are canceled until noon and students participate in career-related activities including presentations from industry professionals, informational interviews with employers, discussions around online presence and resume workshops. The College-to-Career Expo is an awesome opportunity to network for those seeking part-time or full-time internships, employment, or volunteer opportunities.
What it means to be "First-Year Friendly"
At Saint Xavier University, we begin working with students on career readiness in their very first semesters, preparing them for informational interviews, networking sessions, career exploration and more. Any employers who come prepared to discuss options, internships, career path and more with these students can display a table tent indicating that they are "First-Year Friendly." It's a wonderful way to develop a pipeline of future employees while impacting the lives of students at the beginning of their college journey, potentially affecting the direction they choose to follow in their time at SXU!
Registration information for the College-to-Career Expo including pricing can be found by through our career management system, Handshake. Organizations without an account will be prompted to create one. Employers can use this account to manage their event registration and pay event invoices, connect with SXU students, post positions, and advertise recruiting events.
The deadline for registration and payment is February 17, 2026.
Student Tips for Attending
SXU's College-to-Career Expos are a convenient way to network with a large number of employers at one time. These events allow you to establish connections with recruiters in ways that your resume might not. Here are a few helpful tips to make the most of our Expos:
- Research companies of interest prior to attending the event
- Dress professionally to make a great first impression
- Bring multiple copies of your resume or business card to hand out
- Send follow-up correspondence to employers, e.g. thank you, after the expo and connect with individuals on LinkedIn
- Be open minded and visit unfamiliar organizations or employers typically outside your industry
- Have some questions prepared to ask employers of interest (do not ask about salary or benefits)
- Prepare an elevator speech and exude confidence and enthusiasm when introducing yourself to an employer
