Explanation of Online and Graduate Fees

Student Access and available services

All students, online or main campus, get an ID and therefore have access to:

Library

Students can access more than 40,000 online journals, 60,000 books and 6,000 DVDs. Students can also stream over 100,000 music tracks and 2,500 videos. The library has over 30 desktop computers, printers, scanners, quiet and group study rooms.

The Health Center

Serves students, faculty, staff and members of the community. We are a nurse practitioner-led primary care clinic that is open year-round and provides a variety of services for our patient population. The SXU Health Center offers in-person appointments and telemedicine visits available over a secure video link.

Shannon Center

Free Access to fitness center with student ID. The Shannon Center offers live virtual exercise classes that are then stored on the SXU Shannon Center's Instagram page under IGTV to be viewed at any time. We currently have a free library of weekly classes since May.

Counseling Center

Licensed counselors are available at the Counseling Center to guide students toward personal wellness, balance and growth through personal counseling and wellness education.

Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid assists students with questions regarding the financial aid process, FAFSA completion, applying and accepting federal and private loans and satisfactory academic process.

Student Accounts

The Office of Student Accounts assists with any questions regarding tuition and fees, payment plans and financial clearance.

Records and Registration

Efficiency and accuracy regarding the production and dispatch of transcripts, grade reports, class lists, schedules, room assignments, academic record changes and requests for student data in various forms is a primary concern of the Office of Records and Registration, one that is at the forefront of their mission.

Events and Activities

Graduate students are welcome to attend SXU events and activities, which may be found on The Den and/or SXU's event calendar.

Technology

  • Virtual/online assistance has become part of the day-to-day practices across departments/offices. Online support systems via The Hub and HubChat for remote tech support are available.
  • Canvas platform with 24/7 support via chat and support hotline.
  • Nurses use VALT software in simulation labs.

Career Development

All Career Development Center programs, services, and workshops are open to all graduate students. Graduate students are welcome to attend Career Development Center events such as the College-to-Career Expo, Networking Nights and Cougar Career Chats, in addition to presentations that occasionally occur in graduate-level classrooms.

Graduate students have access to all of the resources on the SXU website and Handshake to use for their academic and career development needs, including job search, networking and exploring careers.

Graduate students can attend the Synergy Leadership Summit and are active participants of the Scarlet and Gray Awards Ceremony, invited to attend the event to celebrate the accomplishments of all students.
