Science Research Certificate

Prepare a competitive Science Graduate School application

The Science Research Certificate is designed to prepare any student in science disciplines for competitively applying to graduate research programs. This certificate requires significant preparation in the natural sciences and a strong GPA to complete. Students are required to seek out a research mentor and conduct science research to complete the certificate. The required experience is expected by most graduate research programs.

About the Program

The Science Research Certificate guides students toward meeting important academic prerequisites for achieving acceptance into science research programs. Completion of the certificate requirements will increase the chances of students completing a competitive application.

The BIOL 351 and BIOL 352 requirement provides the opportunity to conduct original research with a faculty mentor to gain important experience using the scientific method to answer interesting questions.

  • Students will obtain knowledge and experiences for consideration into graduate research programs.
  • Students will have competitive GPAs for consideration into graduate research programs.
