Medical Withdrawal
A student may request a Medical Withdrawal in extraordinary cases in which a serious and unexpected condition (i.e., illness or injury) prevents them from continuing their classes and functioning as a student and for which the regular University withdrawal process is not appropriate.FULL POLICY

A student may request a Compassionate Withdrawal in extraordinary cases in which a serious and significant personal situation prevents them from continuing their classes and functioning as a student and for which the regular University withdrawal process is not appropriate.FULL POLICY
*Note: The deadline for submission of a Medical or Compassionate Withdrawal for the current term is noon on Wednesday, December 2, 2026. Requests received after this date cannot be considered.
Temporary and Full University withdrawal
An undergraduate student who wishes to withdraw from active enrollment at Saint Xavier University (SXU) must complete the formal institutional withdrawal process outlined below. Institutional withdrawal is defined as the removal of a student from SXU enrollment for the current and future semesters.FULL POLICY
Individual Course Withdrawal Policy
Students may add, drop, or withdraw from individual courses through Self-Service or the Office of Records and Registration by published deadlines. Withdrawal timing determines whether a grade of W is assigned and whether tuition adjustments apply.FULL POLICY
