Medical Withdrawal

A student may request a Medical Withdrawal in extraordinary cases in which a serious and unexpected condition (i.e., illness or injury) prevents them from continuing their classes and functioning as a student and for which the regular University withdrawal process is not appropriate.

A student may request a Compassionate Withdrawal in extraordinary cases in which a serious and significant personal situation prevents them from continuing their classes and functioning as a student and for which the regular University withdrawal process is not appropriate.

Leave of Absence / Full Withdrawal

A leave of absence or formal withdrawal is initiated when a student chooses to pause or discontinue their enrollment. Approval is coordinated through Financial Aid, Academic Advising and Records and Registration to ensure proper documentation and an understanding of any impact on financial aid.
